Went here ion vendor take out got three dishes and it was like $70. The house dressing was so much lemon that we could eat it. Lasagna was good not great and for the price I would have expected to have a larger piece. Overall again price performance Was not there.

Anyone who writes a good review for this restaurant has to be a relative! Do you watch Ramseys nightmares??? The plastic flowers should be the first clue - It is filled with plastic grapes, flowers, junk! We made a reservation for a party of 10 and we were told we would be in the front because of a party of 15 in the main restaurant- I said - Is there something wrong with the front? Is it cold? (temps were in the 40's here at the time). I was told it would not be an issue... So we get there and we are RIGHT AT THE DOOR! Everyone coming in and out blasted us with cold - so I said that I specifically asked about this when I called and I was told it was warmer than the other room because the other room had no heat! We ordered dinner and as we went through the order process each we found that there were soups and salad with the entrée - a regular salad or a Caesar which was an up charge - house soup or soup with a up charge. Entrees were anywhere from $16 to $30. We had to ask for bread and received 5 slices and dipping oil. There was so little dipping oil - we did not know it was there!.. when dinner arrived we asked for additional bread and we were told it wasn't offered because there was a charge for bread. Bread for 10 people that evening was an additional $12.00 - $12.00 for bread! To be fair -I can tell you that several of the meals were good, Lobster ravioli was good, seafood pasta was average, salmon was OK, scampi was OK. However - and there is always a however - the service was TERRIBLE - waited a long time for everything - no water refilled and dishes were not cleaned from the table! And lastly - let me mention to son - or customer or whoever that wander in and out at least 5 times with an IPOD and headset! All in all - why would you go to this place - it is like eating dinner in the insane asylum! I would say - DON'T GO!

This place is so odd and sooo good. The interior is kitschy and romantic. Not at all stuffy and certainly not fancy..more understated and warm. They seem to focus on good food. We went on a whim and I was only disappointed that we'd never tried it before... The food was TO DIE FOR. We had fried zucchini to start with- then I got the lobster mac and cheese bake. Holy cow, I don't remember much else from the night because I was high off the mac and cheese. It was that good. I really can't wait to go back. I've added some photos to the storefront info. Unfortunately, I failed to get pictures of the lobster mac and zucchini before I ate it up. I guess that is a good sign :)

My husband and I are residents of Indian Rocks Beach and Stefano's is not only our favorite neighborhood restaurant, we consider it one of the best Italian restaurants in the entire Tampa Bay area. It's hard to choose a favorite dish because we have yet to be disappointed with anything we've had there. The fiocchi is unique and delectable; the house salad with citrus vinaigrette is always fresh and light; the grilled scallops are among the best we've ever had; and the lobster mac and cheese is well worth the calories. Wines are reasonably priced and the service is always excellent. The décor is no doubt eclectic and unique; but at Stefano's you'll feel like you're eating excellent food in the intimacy of someone's home, versus mediocre food in the loud, impersonal and institutional ambiance of a large chain restaurant.

Small, cozy, and comfortable place. Service was out standing - prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. Food was amazing, some of the best Italian that I've ever had, and although it took some time to arrive, it was well worth the wait. Highly recommended.

I had the asparagus and cheese ravioli with a spicy mushroom sauce. I'm speechless. As a vegetarian, I have never found such a flavorful option at Italian option in the area.

After a day at the beach we stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. My daughter had heard good reviews from random people about this place. It is VERY small so reservations would be wise. Extremely good service - they kept apologizing for the wait. The wine was good and beer was cold with a cold mug and reasonable. The food was well worth the wait. The piccata sauce wAs some of the best I have ever had. My son in law did everything except lick his plate. We had the lemoncello and gelato swirled together for desert - all the food was excellent and reasonable - would be a great date night place. My daughter thinks it is as good as the Italian food we had in New York!

First off let me say that this is not a restaurant for those in a hurry. Total time at restaurant was about 1-1/2 hours, with no wait to be seated. I will agree with a previous post regarding small children. My one year old daughter wanted to play with all of the stuff on the walls and ceiling. On to the review. The decor resembles an antique shop. The lighting is dim. The chairs and glasses don't match. WHO CARES!!!!! The food rocks. I had the Michaelangelo dinner, and though I was stuffed I could have tried to jam another plate down. Might be one of the best Italian dishes I have ever had. My wife had their Mahi special and it was moist and flakey. Even the bread and oil was great. If you want to take some time over dinner and relax, while eating excellent food, this is the place for you. You can tell that it is homemade and done with skill and love. Wish a place like this existed where I live. FYI. The prices are more like $20-30 than the yelp double $$ of $11-30

Us: family of 5 adults, tired and happy after a day of exploring on the barrier islands and on the mainland. On our way back to our VRBO. Them: charming looking little Italian place we'd already driven past about 4 times. Inside: homy, comfortable, unpretentious. Good smells on a chilly evening: garlic and olive oil. Appetizers: mussels and steamer clams. Excellent! Entrees: 3 types of spaghetti, scallops Alfredo, chicken Gorgonzola. Great! Bread wine and the service: wonderful. We'll be back for sure.

We trusted the previous reviewers on Yelp, and they didn't steer us wrong. The bread was warm and crusty. The house citrus dressing on the salad was delicious. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and was not disappointed. We were visiting from Detroit and will come back here next time we are in town.

Had our second visit . This time brought friends. Some expected delights and some small disappointments. The good. I had twin filet mignon cuts that were topped with perfectly ripe (plum? ) tomatoes pieces and drizzled with a blue cheese sauce (don't think the typical boiler plate type). I usually don't order filet because I don't feel it is one of the tastier cuts. But based on my last meal here I was willing to gamble and it paid off in spades. The steak was absolutely delicious and the sauce was "to die for".Our guest both ordered basic items (spaghetti etc) and they said they were very good. Now the "not so good" My wife ordered the scallops which she had and loved on our previous visit. This time they were not bad, but simply not as good as the first time.I don't think they were seared as well as the first time. Also her asparagus was a little overcooked and heavier than need be on butter. No critical issues, and still better than most places but a little disappointing after our first experience. We are not giving up yet and will give it another try soon

Happened to stop in while vacationing in Redington Shores last week. Had the pear & ricotta fiocchi and my daughter had the lobster ravioli. Both were delicious as well as the house dressing on the salad. I wish I had room for dessert. Pastas were homemade, service was great, place gave the feel of a true homey italian restaurant with mismatched everything. Highly recommended. Worth the ride from the crowded nonsense of clearwater.

I returned to Stefano's wanting to change my previous 2 star rating. I loved this place the first two times that I visited, and I was telling everyone I know about my experience here. As I arrived I was seated right away. The waitress was very nice. Always very polite. I stuck with what I know. I began with the fiocchi. I love this, it is a small pasta filled with pear and cheese, and covered with a white cream or cheese sauce. The pasta was cooked well, the pear has a clean fresh taste to it, and mixes well with the cheese. It all seems to blend together very well with the white sauce that has a hint of garlic taste to it as well. For the entree, veal parm. The veal is tender breading is crisp and seasoned well. The red sauce served with the veal is tasty, has some spices in it but not overwhelming. The side of noodles taste as if they are made fresh here. I am unsure, however they are definitely not just boxed noodles. I opted for the soup with the entree; it was a vegetable soup, and the vegetables appeared as if they were freshly chopped and placed in the broth. The broth was slightly overbearing, however it was OK. I finished off with a piece of the lemoncello cake and a glass of the raspberry chocolate port. The food itself is wonderful. The service was OK. The waitress happen to be someone that I recognized from my previous visit when I was unhappy. We had a small discussion about that. I slightly overheard her telling the owner about what was said. The owner however began to get slightly loud, and just denied that my experience ever occurred. Also noted, he didn't bother to come out and actually speak with me, his actual customer. So why only 3 stars when the food was very good, and the service was good. Well, to begin, the owner doesn't seem all that interested in keeping local business. He relies heavily on tourists, and if the locals manage to wonder in, they may get helped. He had absolutely no interest in finding out my experience from the past. Secondly the value. A meal for one person, 2 glasses of wine, appetizer, and desert with port is nearly $100. Although the service was good, and the food was good, I was not treated at all like I would be dropping $100 on a meal for one. Would I return? I am very torn. I absolutely love the food. However the owner himself doesn't seem to care if he has any return customers. And the services is good, however not great; and for the price points, service should be great. I have noticed that many of the 5 star ratings are from vacationers. I have a theory about ratings by vacationers, and it's true of myself as well. When on vacation, or traveling, we want everything to be great. So in our minds everything is great, unless it's very, very bad. Even mediocre is great while traveling. It has to be great, or that means that our vacation, or traveling wasn't all that good, or sucked. So we convince ourselves how very good everything is. So I am sticking with a strong 3 stars. I don't believe I will ever be able to give more than that. It is disappointing on my part, as I really wanted to find this to be a 5 star restaurant again.

In my opinion any restaurant that takes advantage of people who must eat gluten-free for their health by charging six dollars extra for the pasta is not a place where I intend to eat. It definitely shows a lack of concern for the health of possible patrons.

It was a dark night - like most nights typically are. Me and my girl were on the prowl for a decent meal with no fuss. Earlier that day I had spotted a little italian spot on Gulf Blvd. We decided to take our chances and try it out - Stefano's Italian Cuisine. At first glance, the place looks small and questionable. Please be advised, you will love this place. The restaurant is small and quaint with your choice of outdoor or indoor seating. Upon entering you will find a small bar, being tended by what I assume is the owner. Hang a right - theres the dining area. The room is decorated in a very unique style, but it all comes together and presents itself as an Italian theme in a wierd way. There are classic movie star framed photographs on the wall, small paintings and other random beach style art you would find in a beach-bum's home. The room is dimmed perfectly for a nice little date, if youre into that kind of thing. The ambient music is a mix of carribean, and italian opera & classical. I utilized my priceless Sound Hound app to capture the sound of Guateque All Stars -- SuperWhirly. My girlfriend thought she knew the artist. I knew she didnt. We sat down in a cozy little private nook towards the back of the dining area and were soon greeted by Brian, our waiter. Nice dude, clean cut. Our drink orders - she had a diet coke; our beer selection were the standard bud light, miller light, bud, etc.... I opted for Peroni, partly because I love that beer, partly to support the recently weakening Euro. We were soon served fresh bread with olive oil with condiments mixed in. The bread was warm, I also remember pointing out that it had nice texture for some reason. The oil dip lacked some taste, but it was nothing that upset me. While we waited for our food I took a closer look at the dining room. Every table has its own unique little style. They each have their own table cloths, table style, and a little lamp. Those tables in the middle were decorated with candles -- all except for one unlucky table. Maybe they ran out. Who knows. Our entrees were served with our choice of soup or salad. The soup choice was beef noodle. We both opted for the salad with house dressing. No disappointment here. The dressing was a creamy italian citrus blend. Very good. Soon after, Brian brought our entrees. She had chicken gorgonzola with broccoli served with penne pasta. We had earlier made a deal to share our food. The chicken gorgonzola had a very good taste. You could taste the freshness in the vegetables. However, the chicken felt chewy as if it was defrosted, then cooked. Regardless, a tasty dish. I went with the spinach ravioli special. This was an excellent dish. It was obvious the pasta was made on-site and the spinach was freshly grown. The pasta was light and did not over-power the dish. This is not the crap they serve at Olive Garden. I highly recommend this dish. After dinner, the gentleman who I assume is the owner came by and asked how everything was. It was a nice finish to the experience. I could see he was genuinely interested and cared about his customers. My one complaint of the night was that they had replaced the restaurant thermostat and failed to re-paint around the old one. FYI - the last coat of paint was an off-white... maybe eggshell. Oh - they charged for a refill on the coke too. Come on... build that into your cost. All in all, Steffano's gets an A++. The extra + is for their catering capabilities for your next corporate event. Why are you still reading this? Go eat at Steffano's.

There's very few spots to get a good dinner on the north end of Indian Rocks Beach and Bellaire. So when my mom visited and we wanted to walk from the house to watch the sunset and get a bite, there weren't many choices besides Stefano's. Being a vegetarian and not a huge fan of the typical bland Italian food I'm used to getting when I dine out, I was less than excited about going to Stefano's. I'm very happy to say it surprised me and makes me delighted that there's such a quality restaurant within walking distance. We sat outside at one of the couple tables on their porch. The waitress quickly brought out drinks and warm, flaky bread that we devoured like we hadn't eaten in days. We ordered the fried zucchini for an appetizer. It was thinly battered, crispy and perfectly fried. It was delivered quickly and accompanied with a light marinara dipping sauce. For our main entrees, I had the spinach ravioli special, my boyfriend had the Fiocchi and my mom had the grouper parmesan special. My boyfriend and I were thrilled with our pasta dishes. With homemade pasta and light, creamy sauces, they were maybe the best pasta dishes I have ever had. My mom was less than thrilled with her grouper parmesan and thought it was bland, though I didn't sample it b/c I don't eat fish. We were also slightly disappointed that they weren't serving pizza that night even though it's an appetizer on the regular menu. A fantastic meal, and I'm excited to go back for my second visit in the near future!

I have visited a lot of the restaurants in the area, and I always return to Stefano's. The restaurant decor is very eclectic, the service very friendly and helpful, and the food delicious. I'm a big fan of the Margarita Pizza, Eggplant Parm and a tasty little appetizer of pasta purses filled with pear and ricotta cheese. The salad is always fresh and the citrus italian dressing is wonderful. I love the hog snapper when it's available with a nice mango, pineapple salsa. Simply delightful.

I really, really want to like this place. It's decorated in such an awesome way, you just feel like you're in a good friend's dining room. But as great as it feels to be in the place, the food makes it not worth going there. Especially when a few blocks further south on Gulf Blvd you can enjoy TJ's. The food is better and the prices are about the same. The bread before the meal is toasted, and the oil and spices for dipping is really good. But that's the end of the good. We tried the spaghetti and meatballs, and the lasagna. Neither was worth ordering again. And for an Italian restaurant, those are the mainstay dishes. If you can't do those right, I'm not going to bother with anything else you make. If you're on Indian Rocks Beach and looking for Italian food, keep driving. TJ's to the south, and if you are up for driving about ten minutes further, try Amici, on West Bay.

Excellent, fresh Italian food. I had a salad with spring greens, fruit, blue cheese, and the house dressing which had a citrus flavor. Tasty, healthy and filling. I got the appetizer eggplant Parmesan. Perfect and more than I could finish. Jen ordered Bruschetta and a salad. The Bruschetta had mozzarella and perfect summer chopped tomatoes. Again more than we could finish. I give the food and service a 5 but wasn't crazy about the eclectic decor. Will go back!

Outstanding! Those that wold rate this place poorly due to the decor simply don't know good Italian food. The fiocchi is outstanding! We had the special scallops with key-lime infused pasta and a couple of the other 'standard' dishes - food, wine and service was 5-star. I've eaten at some of the finest Italian restaurants throughout Italy and Stefano's is on par - with very fresh, home-made dishes - authentic flavor and great atmosphere. I'll be back!

My boyfriend & I started out with the Fiocchi which is absolutely mind blowing & the customer service by Donia was absolutely amazing. She is a treasure to that establishment for sure. The only problem I had was the sauce was way too spicy & I like spicy. The decor is warm & fun. Would definitely come back especially with such a great waitress!

This is a little hidden gem, try it you wont be disappointed with such great Italian food. It's intimate and cozy great for conversation or a romantic athmosphere. The owners and staff are attentive and friendly, they are happy to give recommendations on the food or ask how the meal is going. I ordered a special they had that night, gnocci with a white sauce and clams and it was so delicious. I ate every bit along with extremely good sangria. A great spot, walked back to the appartment very satisfied with our meal.

Food, service, atmosphere= AWESOME. Had the seafood pasta, with shrimp, clams, fish, and mussels, in a lobster cream sauce. It was great. Loaded with seafood and the sauce was to die for. My mum got the lobster ravioli which she thought was also very good. She thought there could have been more lobster and less filling but was still delicious nonetheless. The bread and oil mixture served was great, however have never seen extra bread as being charged more. Oh well, still yummy. Server was awesome, can't remember her name and the atmosphere/decor was great. Will 100% be back.

Great find on the beach. Superb Italian food. Everything fresh from the market in the morning. Had Stefano's Seafood over linguine and the hog nose snapper special. Both prepared exquisitely. Restaurant had nice and cozy feel and charm. Definite go to again! and Again!

We recently bought a place in Indian Rocks Beach, wanted to try this restaurant. My husbands daughter was visiting from Las Vegas so we have her input too. I had the Fiocchi, my husband the Spaghetti Carbonara and his daughter Zak's shrimp over linguine. We also had mussels as an appetizer: they were good not great. The salad were all very good, the house dressing was the best. My Fiocchi was fabulous. Melissa's shrimp were very good but the Carbonara was just awful! They had a fried egg on top which was odd to begin with but the whole dish had no flavor. Very little sauce and tasted very blah. He left most of it. I would be very careful ordering at this restaurant!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
